Hi there,
If I delete default "page" content type adding a custom one,
on admin/content/types I only see my own custom content type as expected
but on node/add I still see the original "page" content type side by side to my custom one (anywhere, if I click on that ghostish "page" content type nothing happens).

Some info about configuration:
I successfully deleted the story content type before running into this
I have Italian language added to the site, set it as default and disabled english one.

You can delete any content type from admin/content/types and click on delete link of the content type that you want to delete. After that it will not show in node/add, if it is still showing the name of deleted content type then you can try by clearing the cache in configuration and check it again.
