I think the organization of Drupal modules can be made to be more simple, clean, and intuitive. The attached image is an idea for making the modules page appear similar to the themes page instad of the having the settings seperated away from the module list. I think this would simplify the administration of modules and help Drupal feel more consistent.

-1 for including a 'Configure settings' link with the module. Several modules do not have 'Settings', many modules have a`also Permissions, Content management or even a completely different menu systems with several config links. If there is a central place to go to from the Modules pages (after installation) it is the module Help page with its (generated) administration links. The Advanced Help module places help links with each module to the help page (admin/help/mymodule).
