I think it improves usability quite a lot if the font size gets smaller in the second and third menu level, especially in the administration menu. Less scrolling and it is much clearer into which level an item belongs.

The attached patch does this.

Hm. I'm tempted to won't fix. The text there is small enough as it is for people with rotten eyes (i.e. me :)) and this is something you could simply override in your theme if you want it to work that way (just add those two lines to your theme's style.css).

This is a stylistic decision best left up to individual themers. I'd actually suggest making this a theme snippet in the handbook for those who want this effect, but it shouldn't go into the default theme for the reasons webchick listed.

I'll leave it up to Steven to won't fix, though, since it's his theme. :-)
