If yes, @anybody votes to abstract the logic in "drowl_canvas.install" a bit more, e.g. in helper methods or get in touch with the canvas_builder maintainer to find a better way to solve this... any ideas?

If it makes sense maybe we should then add a test to ensure the merging happened as expected after installation? Especially with possible future changes in canvas_builder?

I can't say, it's quite possible. It's a very new module, and we don't yet know exactly what else will be needed in the future.

@thomas.frobieter will this all be solved through the .yml plan in the linked issue or is anything left we should ask the maintainer to solve?
If yes, we should do it as early as possible.
