I am setting up a drupal 6x site with 5 subdomains, and using the domain access module I was hoping to allow all these sites to be administered from 1 location so that an editor could write a page and choose which domain to publish it to. However this is not what is happening...

This is the site structure:
domain.com
sub.domain.com
sub2.domain.com
sub3.domain.com
etc..

In the domain access administrator page I have set all the options I could find to only publish to specified domains.

And then as the admin I go to create content (lets call it Welcome 1), add a new page, I then add the content and choose publish to sub.domain.com, choose promote to front page and submit.

From this point if you go to any of these:
domain.com
sub.domain.com
sub2.domain.com
sub3.domain.com
etc..

"Welcome 1" is on the front page.

I then went and unpublished "Welcome 1" from the front page, and it removes it from these subdomains, but by going to any of these:

domain.com/welcome1
sub.domain.com/welcome1
sub2.domain.com/welcome1
sub3.domain.com/welcome1
etc..

This page is still viewable ...
My entire objective is to have separate content on each subdomain, am I missing something?

Content is visible on all subdomains if you're admin; this is by design, and not a bug.

I'm having the same problem as r00tk1ll. I use a test user I've created to see how things look from a regular user's standpoint. The content is still appearing where it shouldn't.

Dr, after I logged out as admin and the content was in the right place. I would check in the domain access settings and make sure by default your nodes are not "published to all affiliates". And when you submit a node, that in the domain section it only specifies the subdomain you want to publish it to

I've discovered that the problem is apparently with publishing to the front page. And only for content that was created before installing the Domain Access module. The content appears on the appropriate sub-domains within the menu system, but not the front pages.
If I recreate the problem content, then delete the old one, so it's now created after the module was installed, then it's published to the appropriate front page of each sub-domain.
So, it seems we have a nuisance bug. But at least we have a work-around for the time being.

I believe that simply editing the content and saving it without any changes will allow Domain Access to populate the DA-specific fields for the node, which obviously nodes created before the module was installed will not have. This is the case with any module that adds fields to the node create and edit forms.

It would be fairly simple to write a few lines of code to to load each node in the site with node_load($nid) and save it again if, say, $node->domains isn't present.

Pete.
