Hello,

Disknode is a great tool for managing uploaded files, or just being able to see what is in the files directory. Unfortunately, I have found that some directories in my files cannot be opened. My directory structure looks like:

files/
files/file
files/image
files/flash
files/active
files/css
files/pictures
files/temp
files/working
files/private

about half of these I can get into, but css, file and image are the main ones I want to use and they seem to be blocked somehow. My directory permissions are all the same on these directories.

The reason I want to access these directories is that I use fckeditor and it seems to default to these directories for certain file types. As I do not like the fckeditor upload being available to any user, I have locked it down to browsing only, with disknode or the file attachment feature being the control for uploading.

I will have a look at the code, but if you know of a reason why some of these directories are accessible and others are not, please let me know.
Thanks.

There's nothing special in the directory handling, all directories are handled the same.
Als long as "other" has read and execute permissions on the directory you will be able to view it's content.
What error do you get?

As usual, thanks for the quick response, Elmuerte.

There is no error, when I select one of the directories, eg: file (so path is files/file) then the url at the top of the page changes to http://panosh-dc1/drupal/index.php?q=disknode/browse&subdir=file but the screen does an update but does not change, so I am left looking at the root of the files directory.

When I click on another directory, eg: pictures (so path is files/pictures) then the url at the top of the page changes to http://panosh-dc1/drupal/index.php?q=disknode/browse&subdir=pictures and the screen updates and I am now looking at the files in the pictures directory.

Given that the permissions on all these directories are all the same and nothing special was done to any of them, I assumed it must be something in the code that was causing the problem, possibly database entries that disknode was using to track what directories it had created or something. Along those lines, I deleted the original directory that did not work and used DiskNode to create it again, but still does not work.

This behaviour is the same under Drupal 4.7.0b3 and 4.7.0b5

Also, incase it is important, I am running PHP 5.0.4, Windows IIS 6 on a Windows 2003 server.
Thanks.

Just a thought. Do those directories contain a lot of files, or files with odd names?

Actually, the directories are empty awaiting files to be uploaded. I can use the fckeditor to upload, but I do not like that it is then open to all users (I think) and that it creates duplicate files rather than replaces files, which DiskNode does very well.

Hello Elmuerte,
Thanks for the update to the info link. I have had the following error message appear

You are not allowed to operate outside the base environment set by the system operator.

My base directory is files

If I browse to a subdirectory, then the info link works ok.
Thanks.

Also, further to the issue I have been having about browsing subdirectories, if I cahnge the link

index.php?q=disknode/browse&subdir=somedirectory

to

index.php?q=disknode/drowse&subdir=files/somedirectory

Now I can browse the directory. I can upload to this directory, but again, the error stated above happens when I click the info link.

This is a bit of an improvement as I can at least upload the files into these previously unaccessible locations. Would it be possible to change the code to add the files/ into the link url?
Thanks.

Will look into it tomorrow.

Hello,

I have just downloaded the lastest 4.7.0RC2 and the latest DiskNode for 4.7.0 and now my file browsing problems have gone away.

Thanks.
