I have a site that uses organic groups and field permissions. Some of my fields are being tracked with diff, whereas some aren't. I have tried turning field permissions on and off, which doesn't help. Changing the field permissions on an individual field also does not have any effect. I am going to try to investigate what is happening further, but in the mean time would appreciate any pointer into why some fields are tracked by diff and some aren't.

My mistake, I had forgotten that in the content type 'manage display' tab there is a section for 'revision comparison'. Setting the fields to 'default' here fixed it - I guess they had been automatically hidden here when I hid them from the default display of the node.
