Designkit and Skinr seem to be operating in a very similar space. A few words explaining the difference would be very helpful.

From my implementation Skinr is useful for changing the theming on a specific item or set of items across the site. Typically a block, a menu, etc. We've typically used Designkit only with Spaces to allow configurable theming for a particular Space as long as you are within that Space. E.g. having separate colors and logo for a given organic group or taxonomy term.
