I downloaded Datatables from here: https://datatables.net/download/index and got a different file than that of https://datatables.net/download/download.
If you put that in libraries it won't be recognised.

This is a DataTables issue, not of the Drupal module, which states clearly on the project page which library is supported at the moment.
