I show a user the recommendations page, and they didn't realize these pages were customized for that account. Could we provide a custom message on that page that explain the recommendation or links to how these recommendations were made.

Showed them /recommendations? In admin >> settings >> node_recommendation you can set a little help message to be displayed at the top.

Other then that where would you like it?
