Request to maintain this module for Drupal 7 plus.
After requiring cPanel integration of various jobs, I decided to write a module for this. It is only going to be for Drupal 7 plus.
At the core of my implementation is a classed based API that is mapped to the various cPanel XML API functions.
Initially I will look at two minor sub-modules, cpanel_ui & cpanel_user.
cPanel UI (cpanel_ui)
A module to handle common cPanel functions. Will look at the basic email functions initially, then FTP & MySQL functions.
cPanel User Integration (cpanel_user)
Automate pop3 account creation for new user accounts. I maybe will look at ftp integration latter.
API Usage
So for example, adding a new forwarder would be done using a call similar to:
// Load the default settings for a server. Multiple servers are supported.
$settings = variable_get('cpanel_default', cpanel_default_settings());
// This gets a class for the connection
$http_client = cpanel_http_client($settings);
// Core workhorse class, with root password to WHM
$mainController = new cPanelController($http_client, $settings);
// This targets the controller to the cpanel user account
$mainController->setActiveAccount('accountname');
// Wrapper class for the cPanel Email module
$controller = new emailCPanelController($mainController);
$controller->addforward('user', 'example.com', 'real-address@hotmail.com');
But normally would be done via a wrapper function:
// Using the default server, get the cpanel email wrapper for the account 'accountname'.
$controller = new emailCPanelController(cpanel('accountname'));
// And adds the forwarder
$controller->addforward('user', 'example.com', 'real-address@hotmail.com');

alan d. commentedI contacted the project maintainer a couple of days ago via his contact tab, but I have not had a reply yet.
So this is a formal request to become the maintainer of this module through the official channels, hopefully to have this resolved before the project release which I am currently developing the new version for.
Thanks

avpadernoAs per procedure to follow in these cases, you should wait two weeks.

alan d. commentedThanks. I am really only going to focus on Drupal 7+ and it is a complete rewrite. In relation to HEAD / master in the repository, is there any working code there or is it all in the 4.7 branch?
