If course sections could be grouped into (say) segments, it would be easier to reuse course outlines. This would allow (say) linear equations to be one segment, and you could do this segment before or after the segment "geometry" depending on what suits your class best.

Thoughts:
* Course outline could contain course sections AND course segments
* When adding a course outline to a course offering, and the course outline contains segments, you should be able to choose which order the segments should be added
* When viewing a course outline, the course sections should be grouped by segment

This issue was solved in a slightly different way:

Outlines can now not only point to sections, but also to other outlines. When filling lessons with an outline, all the sections in that outline and any of its sub-outlines are poured into the lessons.

There is a quirk, in that the reference to outlines must have a size (since it uses the same field collection as the section reference). That size isn't used for outline references, though.
