module-level support for this module

I sometimes create modules that have visual elements to them. For example I am currently putting together a jquery colorpicker module at the moment, which relies on a .png file. I would rather use a .gif file for IE6, so in this case I want to call a conditional stylesheet from my module, rather than my theme. It would be nice if there was some support to be able to do this (or if there is, please let me know how to do it). Thank you.
