Ok... I'm sorry if I come across a bit angry but this is extremely irritating. Not everyone is a coder and CMSs should provide solutions for people that cannot code. Otherwise I'd build a website from scratch, instead of using a CMS and then tweak it. I understand Drupal and its modules provide the opportunity for coders to tweak it but, that doesn't mean a module should be useless for a non-coder.

Ok ramblings aside, my problem is that I want to have BitCoin installed in my Ubercart using BlockChain.info. This requires me to have Guzzle HTTP library, which in turns requires me to have Composer Manager, which in turns requires me to know how to use Drush and have it installed, which I never had to use in my 10 years of using Drupal (call me what you want). Or is it the other way around? Do I have to have Composer Manager to have Drush?.. Or wait.. Do I have to have something else called Composer before I can even use Composer Manager? So why doesn't the BitCoin module tell me this instead of saying I have to install something called Composer Manager that I had never heard of?..

Ok so, now I have Composer Manager Installed but it says I need to run the install command. What command? Where do I do that? Why are there no explanations from scratch? I've read here I need shell access to my server? So how do I even know if I have Shell access? I happen to have the website hosted on a VPS... Does that help?

Jesus Christ I just want to know where to start at least. What's the first step? Do I need to install anything else first? What's the right order? How do I check if I have shell access? In Cpanel? In WHM?.. I'm totally lost and this is most irritating. Trying to get Bitcoin working with a local bitcoind/bitcoinq server proved impossible... Using Blockchain, another nightmare!

My questions are simple:

1. I want to install Guzzle HTTP library. For that I seem to need to run the install command on Composer Manager. How do I do that (please reply as if I was 5 years old)?

2. Do I still need to install anything before Composer Manager? Composer? How do I install it? Through WHM?

3. Do I need to Install Drush? Where do I do that? In my Drupal website? In my personal computer? Both?

I realize not all questions belong here but if I could get some guidance, I'd be appreciated.

Thanks in advance and excuse me any nervousness... But spending days and weeks on something as trivial as this, seems to be driving me nuts. I may not be a coder but I have some knowledge of how websites are installed and know HTML/CSS (not bad eh?).

You are not the only one that is way confused... I am LOST

Even installing composer itself is a looping nightmare!!..

These are supposed to be the installation instructions: https://getcomposer.org/download/

Does this make any sense? What does downloading have to do with installing it? It says "Windows Installer" however I don't suppose I'm installing it on my local Windows PC. I want to install it on my Linux web hosting server! Why isn't there a simple instruction like "upload this file to your "x" directory and run it by typing the so and so URL in your browser"? Also what does "command line installation" mean? Is it the same as installing it through SSH? I don't have Shell access to my server so, that's out of the question. I need to know how to install Composer, so I can install composer manager, so I can install Guzzle HTTP library, so I can install BitCoin payments through BlockChain.info.

Geez!.. What a nightmare. Nothing seems to work as it should it's a baroque nightmare to install the simplest of things. It's like things are being made complicated on purpose.

I've been trying everything.

1. I followed the instructions here: https://getcomposer.org/doc/00-intro.md#installation-linux-unix-osx
I uploaded the "installer" file to my public_html directory. But I don't have shell access how do I install it? and tried accessing through http to see if it started any install... But it only opened up a text file in my browser!

2. I also tried uploading Composer-Setup.exe through FTP and run it by calling it through HTTP. I don't even make sense anymore with what I am doing!.. I'm just so frustrated that I'm trying everything!

I don't have SSH access so I want to know how to get that damn Guzzle HTTP library installed, without using Shell access! Is that asking too much? No instructions anywhere!

Here I am answering myself as usual, 2 weeks from my last post. Well, I have already installed drush and I have installed composer (the managed hosting services of my hosting company did it for me). I have the composer manager module installed... However it keeps saying I have to run the install command to generate the autoloader and install the required packages/dependencies.

How do I do that??? I've been here: https://www.drupal.org/node/2718229#managing-contributed

But I'd like instructions in English. this is Chinese (and not the simplifed version) to me! First, each instruction refers to a link, that refers to a link, that refers to a link... And at some point I don't know what I'm doing and where I am anymore. I completely loose track of what which information is for. Then there's a whole lot of vocabulary that's totally alien for me like "vendor", "core directory", "scafold files", "repository root", etc... Where the hell is the repository root? What's a repository anyway???

a) I thought Drupal would be configurable by coders for having a very open architecture. I never thought non-coders would be this blocked from installing a simple module.

b) I always read that Drupal is such a great option because there's a vibrant and active community of people exchanging knowledge. Where is that happening? Am I posting in the wrong place?

I came here for the same issues, trying to install the BAT module (which requires Composer), looking for a solution. Installing the Composer Manager module starts a chain of errors for which there is no clear documentation (if any at all, since I couldn't find anything). So, could anyone provide a clear and effective guide?

Both Composer and Drush are 3rd party/external projects.

There is plenty of documentation out there to help get you started with both, even if you're "not a coder".

The fact of the matter is: Drupal is complex.

You're not going to get a "one-size-fits-all" solution for every single use case.

Nor will you always get "non-coder solutions" for every single use case.

The entire point of a modular system (like any good CMS, including Drupal) means that you get to pick and choose what you wish to install.

This means that it was your choice to install another module that depends on this one.

If that module cannot function without this module's functionality, then either:

a) you find a different solution or
b) you learn how to "code", as you call it

I would like to point out though, that learning how to install something and understanding how said installed software works isn't "coding".

This is just the price of building your own site on a modular CMS which allows you to do "anything" you want... including installing 3rd party software.
