I've tried to make both the OpenID and OpenID_selctormodule work in Drupal Commons, but it won't work. Downloaded Commons about 2 weeks ago, so it should be pretty up-to-date. Im on the X.1 version i reccon.

Keep getting:

This webpage has a loop when redirecting
Webpage at http://commons.mysitexxxxxxx.xx/openid/authenticate?destination=home has caused to many redirects"

I've been getting some help from the mailtainer of the OpenID selector module, but he cant figure it out either.

Did you try disabling the 'forced login' settings located at /admin/settings/commons ?

I've tried your tip, and I can now successfully login with my google profile! Have not yet tested other options.
