Hi,

I am wondering what the difference is between a Post and a Wiki piece of content? They both seem to look exactly the same?

Currently there is not much difference, the wiki content type has the revisions page enabled.

Most of us with Drupal Commons' sites have added a few contrib modules to give our wikis or "collaborative documents" the customization and features needed for our customers / use case.

Not really... the Drupal Commons contributors just haven't gotten time to give the wiki a little TLC. Feel free to contact me anytime, let me know your use case because wikis can vary greatly in features requested/required.
Maybe I will package up my simplest commons wiki and submit it for review next week to start the process.
