I'm trying to make a new custom
panel for commons

I've copied the panel

node--panel--fallback.tpl.php

renamed it i.e

node--panel--NAME.tpl.php

I add a header h1 tag "test"

But the orginal panel
node--panel--fallback.tpl.php

Only shows

would let me know please
how can I make new panel show instead of the fallback panel?

@Charlie Charles, can you confirm your use-case?

Are you trying to

  • create a new reusable layout
  • override the layout for for one particular node
  • customize the panelizer settings for a content type
  • make a new panels variation for node that uses a custom tpl

The instructions are different for each case.
