Acquia's website has 6.212 as latest version. However after updating to 6.212, the admin page shows latest version is 6.213 with security update. Am I missing something here?

slowflyer commentedI guess 6.213 was security update and forgotten on Acquia's website.
Why not downloading 6.213 from here https://drupal.org/project/commons
Comment #2
Roger34 commentedBut Acquia does not recommend version 6 downloads from Drupal website!

Roger34 commentedThanks slowflyer. It worked. It is possible that they did not put it on Acquia as a bundle as the update did not involve the core. But this information could have been mentioned there. I am wondering whether 6.x will be ignored with the development of commons for Drupal 7!

belong@mywebworkshop.com commentedCan anyone tell me how to install 2.13?
I have installed 2.12, which is the complete package, and now need to work out how to add the 2.13 update. This is not at all clear either in the release notes on this website, nor on the Acquia website.
Roger34, if you are reading this, I would appreciate you telling me how you implemented it.
The instructions for updating on the Acquia site are for the full install, including Drupal and all of its modules (and they think the current D6 version of commons is 2.9). https://docs.acquia.com/commons/legacy/upgrade/version2x
If I replaced the profile/drupal_commons folder with the one included in this download file I would be wiping out all the contributed modules currently installed.
I could replace all the like-named files with the new ones supplied in this download.
Maybe the list of contributed modules listed in the relase notes on this website is permisssion to update the modules in the normal fashion I thought. But not all the modules exist on Drupal.org.
These release notes say they address contributed modules, but there are no contributed modules in the package.
The release notes say "Activity Log Email Digests module updated to 6.x-1.4 " but there is not a 1.4 version for this module.
Updating text on the update item for 2.13
This text on the update should be removed as there are no release notes for 2.12 or 2.13 either in the download or on the Acquia site, and the link goes to the generic documentation for Drupal Commons:
"Release notes
You can always find the most up-to-date release notes at http://docs.acquia.com/commons."
Version 6 information on the drupal.org website: please; in place where real people can edit and update
I wish that information about version 6 was still on this website. The Acquia website is unreliable, incomplete, not up to date; it looks like they are not at all interested in the Drupal 6 version. They have stopped at 2.9. I can't use the Drupal 7 version as they have made it impossible on a shared server, so I am stuck with D6.
I wish I could go the D7 route, but since I can't I wish the D6 versions was actually supported and not simply a "legacy" thing, and even if they are not interested, having the info on this website will mean we can keep current information where it is finable and accessible.

Roger34 commentedmiriamnz, this is what I did:
Downloaded the update from Drupal site and unpacked. Content of the commons folder was uploaded (ftp) in to profile/drupal_commons. You don't replace the existing files or folders, overwrite it so that only the changed files will be effected. When there is no core update this is far easier to do than bundling with core and ask for updating the whole site (which is in fact a pain and the biggest pain with Drupal updates). Nevertheless they could have mentioned this either on Drupal site or on acquia site.

ezra-g commentedYou can always find a completely packaged version of Commons 2.x from the recommended downloads page: https://www.acquia.com/downloads.

Roger34 commentedThanks ezra-g. But that is not the recommended URL for version 6.x commons download provided at https://drupal.org/project/commons.

cabachona commentedHi there people,
Please forgive me - a rank newbie in this forum if I am in the wrong place. I thought commons was a module and installed it into my drupal 7 and now realise it is much more. Can anyone please tell me where to put it so that it will work and be acknowledged on my website?
I have searched and searched and know not where to go.
I have Drupal 7 already installed..I do not see any "commons" folder though
I apologise for my ignorance...however every newbie must start from somewhere
Thank you
Sandy

Roger34 commentedI hope you found the answer. I use Drupal 6 and I believe 7 version of commons is also constructed the same way. YOu download as a bundle from Acquia website. Commons is not a module.
