ezra-g commentedCan you clarify what you mean by "wget install"?
eric_sea commentedJust that I didn't use drush, git or ftp to install code. I simply used command line wget to pull a copy of the gz file http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/commons-7.x-3.x-dev-core.tar.gz. Then copied default.settings.php, created files directory etc... all following the normal D7 installation process.
ezra-g commentedI'm not able to reproduce this. Does it happen with the latest nightly dev snapshot?
If so, what version of PHP are you using? And, do you have any other errors in the Drupal watchdog or your server's error log?
eric_sea commentedI thought that by pulling the commons-7.x-3.x-dev-core.tar.gz package on http://drupal.org/node/1496550, I was getting the latest snapshot.
Started over this time I didn't make it as far.

ezra-g commentedLooks like this is a duplicate of #1819032: Enforce PHP 5.3 requirement for Commons_WYSIWYG. It would be great if you could review the patch there. Thanks!
eric_sea commentedIt would be very helpful to have a "Drupal 7 System Requirements" link on the Commons Project page. As you know Drupal 7 requirements include a recommendation not a requirement for php 5.3. Yet it seems Commons can not be installed with out a patch that will enforce that PHP 5.3 is required.
My apologies for the duplicate post, obviously I neglected to repeat the search before following up on my initial install error #1 above.
I'll look into upgrading php and try again.
Thank you ezar-g!
