With views 3 comes lots of goodness... Would be great to know the plans for upgrading to Views 3 for those Commons sites that want to take advantage of the greatness.

amanire commentedSubscribe. In particular, Apache Solr Views hasn't been compatible with Views 2 for months.

ezra-g commentedI looked into this further as part of investigation into patches from #1298378: Identify undocumented contrib changes. We basically need to chose between re-rolling some patches against 2.x that are committed to 3.x I spoke to merlinofchaos and dereine:
Views 6.x-3.x
- No more API changes unless necessary to fix critical bugs
- Stability similar to 7.x-3.x
- View definitions are automatically updated from 2.x
- CCK group by is broken, patch needs review: http://drupal.org/node/695298
- Folks can help us get to beta/stable by working in the queue

ezra-g commented@jsibley I haven't started this work as a result of the ramp up towards planning for Drupal 7. It's likely that we'll focus on a Drupal 7 effort before we devote resources towards updating Views, but I would definitely accept patches that perform this update :).
