centarro/certified-projects is a Composer metapackage that contains the various contributed modules that should be included by default in Commerce Kicsktart. Its README explains the reason we use a metapackage instead of dependencies from within Commerce Kickstart itself:

https://github.com/centarro/certified-projects

Once the metapackage is reviewed and a release is tagged for it, Commerce Kickstart needs to be updated to require centarro/certified-projects and not directly require the various contributed modules currently in the installation profile's composer.json that overlap with it.

I've added this as a dev dependency to the profile, however I forgot a key detail: this dependency should be included by default in the project template, not the profile itself. Otherwise you lose the benefit of being able to remove the dependency and re-add just the certified projects you want for your build.

For more info, refer to the centarro/certified-projects README (linked above) and https://github.com/centarro/commerce-kickstart-project.
