Hi Commerce Guys,

You are doing a great job the kickstarter is a great way to start where you can get a lot of people on your track to success, but imho there is missing an important feature and that is the possibility to sort products manually on both taxonomy pages and the all products page.

If looked some days now on a solution on how to do this and it doesn't seem to be a straight forward task and it seems that there are a lot of people who really needs it. And I have therefore marked it "major".

So if you could give some hints on how to add this since there is a lot going on in commerce kickstart and it is not a straight forward task for the most to figure out how to add this. A solution on how to add a new sort handler to the search api based on nodequeues, draggeble views or entityqueue would be very nice. And if you pinpoint me in the right direction I would gladly work on it and document it for others who are interested.

Thanks in advance, Chris

You need to add a weight field to your products and sort the views by that. I suggest trying the draggableviews module for a nice reorder UI.

bojanz: mmncs: I've just replied
mmncs: thanks mate
mmncs: but the sorting is done by the search api?
mmncs: bojanz:
bojanz: mmncs: if the weight field is indexed, then it doesn't matter, it's ordered by views
bojanz: do you need a sort button rendered as well?
bojanz: like the sort by price thing?
mmncs: ok
mmncs: no that is not that important it is just important when the user comes to the page at first time
mmncs: ok I'll have a look at draggable views and thanks for your time

bojanz: mmncs: remember, draggableviews is just a UI. Even if that doesn't work out, you can still create a custom Weight field and order on the values that you enter
