@jigarius mentioned in #2980599: Beanstream.com SSL Certificate Change that Bambora (was: Beanstream) has published their own "commerce_epay" module to work with their API here: http://epay.bambora.com/en/download/drupal-commerce

We should evaluate this module and compare it against commerce_beanstream, and ideally get the Bambora developers on board as maintainers of this module on drupal.org directly. At very least, hopefully we can coordinate our efforts with them, and sync things up between here and there.

I've taken a look at this "official" module from ePay, which is "a Bambora company". As far as I can see, this is separate from the North American Bambora payment gateway, which is what the commerce_beanstream module is based on. If anyone is working from the UK or Europe, it looks like ePay is what you want, and in that case your Merchant Account and such will be with them, and you'll want to use the above module.

This all seems to be related to Beanstream being acquired by Bambora, who now owns (at least) two different payment processing companies. I've had contact with somebody at Bambora, and I'm hoping perhaps I can confirm this with them directly, and get an idea what the "official" way forward is from their perspective.

All of that being said, I can see no reason not to continue with commerce_beanstream as-is for the moment. As far as I can tell, it should continue to work as before, at least for now.
