Does ColorBox Node work with Entity Reference module, any guidance?

Colorbox works fine in views ("Link this field to the original piece of content" and "Display the content inside of a colorbox" turned on). However, at the parent node, clicking the Title of the referenced node selected in Entity Reference field links normally to the referenced node, but doesn´t open the referenced node in the colorbox overlay. Is there a way to do that?
