I have a view of articles (unformatted list of fields). For Title field I have selected: " Link this field to the original piece of content" and "Display the content inside of a colorbox". When I click the Title in the View it only links to the article and no colorbox is loaded. However images load nicely in colorbox. This happens both in IE and in Firebox.

I suspected that other modules may disturb colorbox node and so I made a fresh Drupal installation where only necessary core modules are enabled in addition to modules listed above. I have tested with the newest dev version of colorbox node as well. Nothing helps. Do I miss a step or two?

Unfortunately not. Today I tried again without success with following versions:
Colorbox 7.x-2.4+9-dev
Colorbox Node 7.x-3.1
Libraries 7.x-2.1
Colorbox plugin 1.4.27
Views 7.x-3.7
Chaos Tools 7.x-1.3

Images open nicely in overlay, but title fields link only to the original node. I have selected: " Link this field to the original piece of content" and "Display the content inside of a colorbox". I must make a mistake somewhere, because others get this working.

Can u provide more information?

Do you have a javascript error?
Can you show me the rendered HTML of the link?

It seems not to be browser dependent either.
I use Adaptive Themes, AT Magazine 7.x-3.0.

Make sure colorbox load is turned on in your colorbox settings. Also put your html in code blocks.

Yes, colorbox load has been turned on (I suppose automatically by Colorbox Node module). I wouldn´t like to touch the html, because there is no custom html. I use also Display Suite 7.x-2.6. Any configurations necessary there? I´m happy to give you a link to look at, but what do you need?

Here is the link: http://www.goodrules.com/?q=node/47. Now the overlay box loads with an error message that begins "An AJAX HTTP error occurred. HTTP Result Code: 200..."

The view is in a block. In the view "Link this field to original piece of content" and "Display the content inside of a colorbox." have been turned on. Colorbox load has been turned on as well.

My target is to refer to the node selected from the view and show the selected node in colorbox (by using Entity reference or any other similar field)

I was just having a similar issue here. Removing the Configuration>Colorbox>Advanced Settings "All pages except those listed" paths seemed to fix the issue for me.

Yes, that makes the error message disappear together with the overlay box. After that clicking the title in the view links to the original node without any error messages. By turning "All pages except those listed" back on, I get the colorbox or overlay box appear without content and with the long error message:
An AJAX HTTP error occurred.
HTTP Result Code: 200

I don't have this module setup to not work without "mod_rewrite" (clean urls) working. You need to have that turned on. I'm welcome to patches if you feel so inclined.

Thank you very much! Turning on clean urls resolved the problem. The nodes open now nicely in the colorbox overlay when the title is clicked from the views list.

I haven´t yet tested how it works with entity reference fields, but I already found your instructions among the previous issues and will have a try.
