I was wondering if it is possible to add additional cck date feature to the cmf filtering system.

Almost anything is possible. Unfortunately, I don't know CCK internals. The newest version makes it very easy to add a new filter; there are even instructions near the top of the module. I have also been considering adding a hook so that other modules can implement their own filters.

If you can figure it out, I would welcome a patch.

Just wanted to say that allowing users to filter content by cck fields would be a HUGE leap forward for this module, as cck is so prevalent. Feel free to close the issue again, but just wanted to add my 2 cents.
