When using Firefox 3.5.9, saving a file does not result in saving changes to the text. However, save does work in IE Explorer 8.0. If I switch to plain text editor before saving, it does result in changes made to text.

I am using latest version of CKeditor (3.3), Ckeditor 6.x-1.1, Wysiwyg 6.x-2.1, Pressflow 6.16. I do not have any ajax modules enabled. I uninstalled and re-installed CKEditor but made no difference. This seems to be similar to http://drupal.org/node/741572.

Unless I utilize work-around (switching to plain text editor before saving), this bug essentially renders CKEditor non-functional.

Check the dev release, use either CKEditor module or Wysiwyg but not both modules at the same time.

I've got the same problem.

I did have WYSIWYG installed, but have removed it and the problem persists. I've upgraded to the 6.x-1.x-dev (2010-Jul-11) version and I've tried un-checking the HTML-related filters in both the CKEditor settings and Input formats settings, but those changes have made no difference. I've read through the handful of threads relating to 'not being able to save' - but didn't have any luck finding a fix.

One strange thing I've noticed is that it doesn't affect all CCK text fields. It's just occurring with new fields added to a content type. I've gone through all the configurations in the field settings and haven't found anything that is out of place. The odd thing is that several weeks ago I was having no problem saving content in those same new(custom) fields.

For example, for a content like Page - anything I put into the BODY input area is saved, but when I add another text field like "additional_info", those text changes aren't saved.

And yes, if I "switch to plain text" before saving(with Full HTML input), I can preview and save both text and inserted images.

This is a great module - the best of the editors. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Anybody had any similar problems or have any ideas?

I have the same problem in Safari, Firefox and Chrome on Mac.
Nothing saves, but problem isn't consistant for the whole site. I can edit and save comments, but not bodyfields.

I have deactivated WYSIWYG module, and it didn't help.

Using CKEditor 6.x-1.1, and editor version 3.3.2.

Update: Tried downloading two other versions of the editor, now using version 3.1.1.
Still doesn't save changes in edited nodes. When I turn the editor off, and switch to plain textfield, there's no problem at all.

I updated to dev version of the module, and downloaded 3.3.1 version of the editor, and it's working for me now :D
Tried in both Safari and Firefox.

Well, now it doesn't even give me a textfield in IE7 + IE8.
So much for my happy thoughts.

Found "fix" for that here:

So, looks like it's working like it should, in most browsers now.

It' fixed in DEV release with CKEditor 3.4. For me everything works fine.
New stable release will be soon.
