I really don't need the functionality of CKeditor on the regular site for comments but I like to have it in the admin section for creating new content and articles.

I've disabled it completely in the user side of the site, but it still loads the big ckeditor.js file, and possibly other stuff. Since I'm really needing to cut down on my load times and page sizes, can someone tell me how to make it so ckeditor only loads in the admin section?

Thanks,

Give permission "access ckeditor" only for roles which have access to admin section, after it assign profiles to that roles.

If you have any lack of clarity about issue, feel free to reopen it.

Hey mephir,

Thanks for the response, I'm still a little unclear on one thing though.

In my permissions I don't have anything about CKeditor. My CKeditor files are in the root folder of my website so I figured that was why since it wasn't in with the rest of the modules, but maybe that's a false assumption.

Any reason you can think of why I wouldn't have "access ckeditor" like you mentioned in my permissions?

Have you got module enabled? On admin/user/permissions page you should have two permissions connected with ckeditor module, there are:

  • access ckeditor
  • administer ckeditor
