I haven't thought through at all what this should look like, but I'm guessing a class for product type, Rules, and probably more. I'm currently scheduled to work on a Commerce project in June, so will likely hit this then if no one else gets to it sooner.

Nice, I'll keep an eye on it and offer up any pointers I have. I'm also probably going to make use of CINC for an internal Commerce distribution we use for managed client sites, so maybe we'll beat you to the punch. : P
