Chat doesnt update: no obvious cause such as missing webroot chatroomread.php

I do get the following errors in the browser console:

When typing, each character pressed generates:

Warning: The 'charCode' property of a keyup event should not be used. The value is meaningless.
(against the chat node)

When submitting the text:

Warning: Unknown pseudo-class or pseudo-element 'last'.
(against the chat node)

The browser is firefox,

The following JS is enabled:

Im guessing its not panels, no panels are active on the page and you would have everyone screaming if there were a pnel clash...

Still the same console errors.

Ok, got it working again. Trying to repliacate the fault. I did two things, not sure which one fixed:

- I made the edit to chatroom.install mentioned here :http://drupal.org/node/851070 though I had no error logs, i thought a silent error might exist if the install was wrong (straw clutching maybe)

- I also enabled all the permissions. Since I had the module working previously I'd tried to tighten the access permissions (so certain roles couln't admin the chatooms). There might be an error there and Im going to mess around a bit and post conclusions...

Ok, set permissions back to restricted, and still working. I've enabled some of the other modules with javascript and still working

Can't offer any explanations..

Whatever happened to fix it, the browser console errors also disappeared...

Perhaps the chatroom.install edit fixed it?

I got to the bottom of why it wasnt working, it was because the default values for the chatroom created through node_save appear to be non-functional. I openened a new ticket here because they should probably be changed in a next code drop even though the solution is pretty simple.
