Cookie Based Blocks gives you the opportunity to show blocks to website visitors based on the presence of a cookie. A block is shown once, then a cookie is set, and as long as the cookie is present the block is not shown anymore.
In the block edit interface you can use a checkbox to activate the feature and select the duration the cookie will be valid. You can also specify a delay before the block appears and the cookie is set, so that the block appears only after a certain number of seconds.
This is useful for newsletter forms, special offers and blocks you only want to show once in a while. You can show the block in it's normal spot in a region, or use css animation and jquery to have it slide in or pop up.
Using Colorbox
When the Colorbox option is selected and Colorbox is available the block will be presented using the Colorbox popup.
Maybe in the future we will update this functionality to use the settings of the Colorbox module.
