Problem/Motivation

The 8.x-1.x branch should be completed and button_field fields in Drupal 7 migrated into supported versions of Drupal.

Proposed resolution

Finish the work in the 8.x-1.x branch with the exception of complex Ajax functionality so that the 8.x-1.x branch (or 2.0.x) is usable.

So, I am guessing: no.

Woudl be nice to have some kind of pointer here on how to provide some of this functionality in D8 though?
