Going to the home page to sign on page I get no error messages re BOTCHA

However, going instead to: sitename/?q=user/login to login I am shown the error notice:

Notice: Undefined variable: path in _botcha_url() (line 107 of /home/sitename/sites/all/modules/botcha/botcha.botcha.inc).

After signing in I then get shown two error notices:
Notice: Undefined variable: path in _botcha_url() (line 107 of /home/sitename/sites/all/modules/botcha/botcha.botcha.inc).
and
Notice: Undefined variable: path in _botcha_url() (line 107 of /home/sitename/sites/all/modules/botcha/botcha.botcha.inc).

I have tried disabling and uninstalling an reinstalling. And repeating the two login routes several times with the same results each time.

EDIT:
My host set the settings.php permisions to 400 (they were set at 444). Could this have contributed?

Status: Active » Closed (cannot reproduce)

Please update to the latest version: if you prefer stable releases - 7.x-2.0 or later else - just use 7.x-2.x.
If the problem remains - reopen the issue.
For now I can not reproduce it.

After attempting to update Botcha via the UI the site fatally crashed.

This ticket appears as:
Project: BOTCHA Spam Prevention
Version: 7.x-2.x-dev
Looking into this now, it seems the original download and install was of 7.x-1.x-dev.tar.gz. The ver number given in the original ticket was copied from the install and would have been the most current version available at that time. It would have been updated via the UI since it was installed on 12 Sep 2012.

You should create a separate issue describing your problem, this one is closed for now. Your investigation is quite resultative, please give additional information about what kind of error message do you see on the screen, in the dblog, what inconsistent behavior do you see? I am waiting for your report in new issue, if you don't mind.
