The /tmp directory is being filled with boost files and not removed. This is on top of the files created in the defined cache directory. They seem to be identical, minus the names. Is the suppose to happen? If so, how do we get the files to be deleted?
Thank you

stephen ollmanHave the exact same issue, where by the server(php) /tmp (not the Drupal site tmp) folder is storing the boost**** files and not removing them.
I need to manually purge the /tmp folder every few days otherwise it has a drastic effect on sites being hosted on that server.
The Drupal 'file system' Temporary Directory is set to 'tmp' and there is one at the public_html level and one inside public_html.

cgove commentedAlso seeing this. Half a million of these files have been generated totalling over 65 GBs. Have now configured a cron job to delete these nightly.
find /tmp -type f -name 'boost??????' -deleteComment #4
cgove commentedFigured out what is causing this. It will leave those files in tmp if the Boost cache folder has files or folders that don't allow Boost to write to the directory. After fixing permissions, Boost stopped leaving any files in tmp.
