When viewing the front page at Drupal.org, often a teaser image from one story will flow into the space of the one below it.
One solution would be to add a <div class="clear"></div> after the <div class="links"></div> but before the teaser's closing </div>.
I have attached a screenshot (animated gif) which illustrates how this makes the page more readable.
