are paid themes allowed to be on drupal.org? [#600862]

This is the first theme I've seen at drupal.org that is paid.

I certainly wouldn't appreciate having to wade through a mountain of themes trying to discern which are free and which are not. The search filter does not make the distinction either.

So if you are actually allowed to put paid themes on drupal.org, could you have the courtesy to say that it is a paid theme in the first line of your description so that you are not wasting the time of 99% of the users browsing the theme section.

Sorry if I seem grumpy, but I've spent my entire morning looking for a suitable theme for a project, and I'm miffed that blogbuzz made it onto my shortlist when it shouldn't have even been considered.

yes I saw the same thing. On the website, when I checked today, this theme is for sale 89$ (single site) and 169$ (multiple site). It is tricky because me too i taught that the themes in the themes depository were open source. I have nothing against paid themes (any work needs to be paid). So we need a clarification: is this theme free or not?

Actually, I think I should apologise for my initial reaction.
The license included with this download is GNU.
It looks like I can use this after all.

I think they've very kindly, and perhaps altruistically, released
v1.0 as a free theme in an effort to boost their business profile.
If so, it's good news for us! They've got fantastic themes available,
and blogbuzz no less so.
