Is it possible to align the reference block to right,left,top,bottom in the content?

Use case :I reference an image block which i would like to be shown to the right of the content in the node.Now its shown at the bottom of the content which doesnt look good.

It's not really possible to align any CCK fields like that. You would have to make a node template for the content type, and disable the default display options.

yes, you need to define your template.
