I am installing BOA 2.04-dev and am getting through to install success and getting the problem of not being able to view o1.sub.aegir.local

aegir.local resolves fine, but o1.sub.aegir.local does not

this error is consistent to the following combinations

  1. VirtualBox Local install BOA 2.04-dev, VirtualBox Host Windows 7, VirtualBox Guest Debian 6.05 or Ubuntu 12.04
  2. VirtualBox Local install BOA 2.04-dev VirtualBox Host Ubuntu 12.04, VirtualBox Guest Debian 6.05 or Ubuntu 12.04

I have tried the above combinations using NAT &/or Host Only (vboxnet)

I have also tried stable (2.03) but that doesn't complete Octopus install at all, this error http://drupal.org/node/1602082#comment-6180038

I will attempt to better document this and upload logs etc, split into separate issues if need be

as an aside, I got BOA 2.04-dev working on VM Ware Workstation 8, I guess local install can be done on VMWare AND VirtualBox

certainly, VMWare is less easy to mis-configure !

I think maybe associated?

on local install Ubuntu 12.04 on VirtualBox/VMWare no password reset emails are sent either for aegir.local or o1.sub.aegir.local

I have exactly the same problem(s)...

same problem here, BOA stable doesn't complete the installation, Head does and leaves aegir.local working but o1.sub.aegir.local wont resolve, neither other subdomains

I'm using VirtualBox Ubuntu 12.04 Guest / Ubuntu 12.04 Host LOCAL

@niccolo the email problem might be due to not having installed a mail server on the virtual machine

I used this command to install BOA and save the output to file, mainly so I could get the password resets which usually come in emails

aegir.local/user/... and o1.sub.aegir.local/user/...

{ echo boa in-head local my@email.org max; boa in-head local my@email.org max; } >> boatodaysdate.txt
