In #3482198-13: [meta] Tasks to deprecate the Ban module I indicated my intent to maintain Ban in order to remove it "as-is" from core. There are other contributors who have bigger ideas to improve the module and work on the next generation.
So far this includes:
Opening this issue for these contributors to confirm if they are still interested.

anybodyHi @mstrelan, I'd be happy to help as co-maintainer where I can. Still our focus should indeed be a decision at #3561456: Merge with the advban module because many of the features requested here are already part of advban and it looks like duplicate work. Sadly the maintainer of advban doesn't seem to be very interested, could you maybe try to get in touch with him directly to find out if there's a possibility to join forces or not?
Thanks!
PS: Together with me also feel free to add my glorious team-mate @grevil.

anybody@mstrelan shouldn't we make @berdir maintainer? Or did you already contact him and he denied?

Feel free to add me, but I'm also OK if you don't. I already don't have enough time for the modules where I'm already a maintainer, I won't be able to spend more time on this than I already do I think.

anybody@berdir thank you so much for your support here! I totally understand that you're busy to the human limits.
I think we're hopefully close to "Feature complete" here once we have the UX improvements and the current changes to 1.1.x-dev released. Don't think this will or should have many changes in the future, but let's see!
Great to have you on board!
I'd vote to grant @berdir all maintainer permissions btw for a better "bus factor" here ;)
@mstrelan looking for further Co-maintainers or should we close this?
