how to back up and restore my site properly??

this is right how i back up my site?

1. I have backup of my files and directories and copy to my thumbdrive. (means i just manually copy and paste to my thumbdrive)
2. I have backup of My SQL database and also copy to my thumbdrive.

i use drupal 6.10 version.

then this is right when i restore my site?

1. I just paste my files and directories in C/xampp/htdocs
2. then i restore my databse on phpmyadmin.

this is work when i backup and restore by what i just mention it above??

for your information i just build my site in localhost and i just want to know how to backup n restore in localhost.
