Hi,
I am not sure what's going on here or even how to report this, but I installed Avatar Blocks today and when I go to
http://www.foo.com/admin/build/block/configure/avatar_blocks/1
I get a blank white screen. I am not getting any error messages, nor in drupal error log or apache error log. Otherwise when I turn the blocks on they work - except that it does not use the images from the imagecache and I am not able to select them.
I have og and imagecache installed. I am at drupal 5.3. Another site I run does not have imagecache but does have og and it works fine. What else can I look for? Please pm me if you need additional troubleshooting info.
Many thanks for any guidance!
Tobias

tobias commentedFYI - I had the same issue as http://drupal.org/node/287300 with only myself (user 1) being able to see the avatar blocks. I was able to fix it also by reinstalling the system module via the devel module.
My blank screen when hitting the "configure" link on the avatar blocks has sadly not gone away.
Cheers,
Tobias

roopletheme commentedAny chance the 1.2 release does something for your 'config' issue?
tobias commentednope - still having the same prob with 1.2
thanks for your efforts!

trevorleenc commentedI am also getting this WSOD too when trying to configure the blocks.
Not seeing any errors in the error log.
Is it possible that this is dependent on some module...imagecache for example?
I'm still stuck on a php4 environment right now, which has me limited to imagecache1.6, and maybe this has a dependency on imagecache2?
tobias commentedhey there - glad to hear I'm not alone. :-) can you PM me the list of modules you have installed and version of drupal, and I will compare it against mine?
I am assuming it is related to some module incompatibility - but I don't yet have a clue what it is. I run two sites, and one of them has this module working perfectly and the other gives this WSOD when configuring the avatar blocks and hence doesn't let me display them correctly.
Cheers,
Tobias

roopletheme commentedWow... that's just scary. :)
Can't say I've tried all of these modules with AvatarBlocks. No way I can take the time to try and duplicate this setup.

The thing that jumps out to me on your list are the node access modules... ACL and Content Access... but only because I haven't used either of them with AvatarBlocks.
I see constant WSODs on shared hosting accounts with the 5.x Update Status module enabled, and it's not much different with the 6.x version. Much as I love the functionality of Update Status, I find it unusable for all but the most robust of server setups. I don't think it's related to this problem, but I thought I would mention it.

trevorleenc commentedding ding ding!!! we have an ERROR! (yay?)
ok, and I SHOULD HAVE done this before, but I tried loading the module onto my sandbox site, which at the moment is an "almost" exact duplicate of the live site I'm wanting to use avatar blocks on.
The difference between the two really is: the live site is php4, and the sandbox is php5. The additional thing on the sandbox is, I have access to php.ini, so I have error reporting turned on...and here's what I saw...
Fatal error: Call to undefined function imagecache_presets() in /home/.host/userid/xxx.mydevsites.com/sites/all/modules/avatar_blocks/avatar_blocks.module on line 91
so, if I had to guess, without any additional guesswork...it's probably the difference in the imagecache versions...
*also* I've not had any problems with the update status module, but thanks for the reminder, I only really was using it to slowly bring the live site up to date with all of it's modules as I performed a series of other upgrades on the site. So now it's disabled, but that didn't help in this any.
trevorleenc commented*um*, a simple search for "Call to undefined function imagecache_presets" turned up this gem:
http://drupal.org/node/293639
though I had previously mentioned I was stuck on imagecache1.x due to php4 on the webhost, it seems this problem would be a duplicate...
on that post you mentioned adding that Imagecache2 was required to the README, I did not see it in mine, so I guess it hasn't made it in there yet...
thanks for your time, and a great module...once I get the live site's hosting company to upgrade the site to php5, I'll go the imagecache2 route, and this module will most definitely be top of the list.

roopletheme commentedCool... I should have caught that in your list of modules, but somehow it escaped me. I'll include the updated readme the next time I turn the theme. In the mean time, I'll update the project page to note the requirement.
Hope this is what's behind the problem that tobais is seeing too,,,
