[Question] Phone approval via SMS

My scenario:
1. User registers to the site
2. User provides a mobile phone number as a required field (also provides a mail address as required field)
3. The mobile phone number that has been provided will be approved by a one time SMS message.
4. Optionally, the mobile phone number will be approved each time user changes the number.
5. Password recovery etc. will also be handled via SMS.

To summarize: The mobile phone number will be approved via SMS and The functionality of e-mail address in user operations will be transfered to mobile phone number via SMS. (To be clear, I want to mention that I am not looking for a TFA solution).

I wonder whether:
1. this module is a good choice to go for this scenario. (If yes, any other hints for the solution).
2. there is a better path to implement this scenario. Any recommendations?
