Caleb - hey, Billy here - you gave me some guidance several weeks ago when I was a total noob. Thanks to your excellent work, I've progressed quite a bit, but I've run into a couple of problems that seem to be CSS-related - perhaps you have an idea or two.
The site in question is up at http://76.12.88.17 - everything works great in FF and Safari - it's IE7 that's causing me fits.
If you look at the site in IE7, you'll note that the front page text is too large and partially "breaks" the styling - this only happened after I installed the OG module, and disappears if I deactivate it. (A clue?)
You'll also note that on the Multimedia page (embedded Gallery2), the CSS is more severely "broken."
One thing that occurs to me - OG relates to CiviCRM (which is also embedded) - Gallery2, OG and CiviCRM all use groups. Could there be something about group access in embedded modules that causes ATCK styling to "break" in IE7? (I can't test in IE6.)
Any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated - in any event, I'd like to thank you again for submitting the ATCK theme - terrific work!

Caleb G2 commentedHi bcobin,
Once you get to the point where you're troubleshooting a specific browser, with a specific custom theme, and specific custom modules, it's really a no-man's land of sorts. Meaning that it *could* be any one of a number of things, including but not limited to:
1. There is a syntax error in your basic template that is a causing an inherent problem. You should check to see that your underlying theme is xhtml valid and/or css valid. Also, a missing div tag or something like that can wreak havoc with a theme and be hard to diagnose.
2. The modules you mention introduce markup (html or css) that is funky. Eg., they included floated and/or absolutely-positioned elements, block or inline elements that don't play well with other things.
3. A genuine browser bug. IE 6 and 7 of course are known to have plenty of them. :-)
Best of luck.

bcobin commentedThanks, Caleb. I did some cleaning up last night (after I "discovered" HTML validation - I was already using CSS validate) but the problems are still there. I suspect not a lot of people are trying to get CiviCRM, embedded Gallery2, OG, jsCalendar and coolplayer, etc. to "play nice" together, but it could be a very powerful combo if I can get it all to work in IE. And I think "pushing the envelope" like this is a good thing as far as making life easier for everyone in the long run.
At this point, I think I may "punt" to a genuine developer who actually knows what he/she is doing. I've heard the people at highervisibilitywebsites.com are pretty good. ;-)
Thanks again for your timely and articulate response, and of course, for the ATCK theme, which is fantastic. Keep up the great work!
