That's odd. Which WYSIWYG editor are you using? I've used it with CKEditor and have no problems.

How do you configure CKEditor to work with a Text Area? I am also using WYSIWYG.

This doesn't explain how to enable or disable the editor for specified text areas. It is quite simple, when you configure the modules permissions set the CKEditor Admin permission as well. This displays the path for each text area, just input this into the CKEditor settings. BAM RICH TEXT!
