APEX Events

APEX Events is a conference, festival, venue, and program subtheme for event marketing, schedules, speakers, sponsors, and on-demand content built on APEX.

It combines violet-and-pink event tokens, display, body, and monospace type stacks, and five Single Directory Components for countdowns, speakers, agendas, sponsors, and recordings.

Event information with visual energy

The theme distinguishes dense agenda information from generous campaign pages and provides specific tokens for registration and live state. It keeps the parent theme's 28 regions while adding Events-specific page classes.

Outfit, Inter, JetBrains Mono, and fallback stacks are declared, but font files are not bundled. Provide licensed assets or use available fallbacks.

Five Events components

• Countdown: supplied days, hours, minutes, optional seconds, explicit target time, and upcoming, live, and past states, with data hooks for a site-supplied live enhancement.
• Speaker card: featured, grid, and compact presentations with optional portrait, role, linked organization, session and session time, pronouns, and keynote state.
• Agenda day: chronological linked or unlinked sessions with start and end times, speakers, track, room, and keynote, talk, workshop, panel, break, or social type.
• Sponsor strip: lazy-loaded linked or unlinked sponsors grouped by tier, with four logo sizes and an optional sponsorship call to action.
• Recording card: poster, title, speakers, duration, track, recorded date, transcript destination or recording-page fallback, and AI-summary indicator.

Container-aware agenda rows and compact card variants adapt to available width. Visible focus, reduced-motion, high-contrast, forced-color, and print treatments cover live indicators, media overlays, links, and schedules.

The countdown renders values supplied by Drupal; live JavaScript updates are not included. The other components do not manage registration, ticketing, agenda conflicts, time-zone conversion, speaker submissions, sponsor billing, video playback, transcripts, or AI summaries.

Current installation scope

The package has three base stylesheets, two class-only page wrappers, one settings override, five SDCs, eight standard optional block placements, and all 28 APEX regions.

The planned event, speaker, and venue landing templates and demo content are not present. The front-page wrapper describes a cinematic hero-and-countdown concept but does not place components. Map real event entities, time data, media, ticket destinations, and Views through site-owned integration.

Event implementation guidance

1. Store datetimes with explicit time zones and define how the site displays attendee-local and venue-local time.
2. Calculate countdown values server-side and add an accessible Drupal behavior only if live updates are required.
3. Provide schedule-change, cancellation, capacity, accessibility, and emergency information from authoritative owners.
4. Obtain speaker and sponsor permission for names, portraits, biographies, sessions, and logos.
5. Provide captions, transcripts, and accessible player controls for recordings.
6. Configure event aliases, canonical URLs, metadata, redirects, sitemaps, and accurate Event structured data separately.

Accessibility, accuracy, and SEO

The styles include reduced-motion, contrast, forced-colors, and print accommodations. Test keyboard access, focus, chronological reading order, tables or schedule alternatives, time-zone labels, portrait alternatives, captions, transcripts, zoom, reflow, color-independent status, and assistive-technology output.

Search visibility depends on accurate names, dates, time zones, venues, availability, stable URLs, descriptive titles and links, canonicalization, internal navigation, metadata, valid Event structured data, and prompt updates when schedules change. An AI-summary indicator must never imply that a summary exists or has been reviewed when it has not.
