I'm new at this. What modules do I need to get the slider going?
If I only need the Nivo jQuery, then where do i install it? is there a how-to tutorial for this?

I found the Views Nivo stuff, but that requires Views, which I don't think it's required here.

Ok based on the other thread, I need the following;

- Views Nivo Slider 7.x-2.x-dev
- Views 7.x-3.0-beta3
- Chaos tools 7.x-1.0-beta1

If you want to build a basic slideshow with images only, you can do that with the theme only. It comes with the nivo slider plugin included. Here's how http://drupal.org/node/1181286#slideshow
