I wanted to send an email to every user of a certain role when content was published of a certain type.
For instance:
I have a role, "Content moderator".
I have a content type: "News"
When a piece of "News" content is published, I want an email sent to all "Content moderator" users.
I installed and enabled the module. I then proceeded with the configuration:
1. Select the content types: News
2. Enable on content update: unchecked
3. Content status: Only notify for published content
4. Select roles (Please select the roles for which email notifications should trigger on content insert/update): I assumed I would select, Content moderator, but wasn't sure, as below there was a place to select as well?
5. Email Recipients (Please select the roles to whom you want to send email, please remember to select roles in a way so that total user count should not be greater than 50.): Content moderator
6. Email Settings: defaults
So, I have "Content moderator" selected in 2 places; instructions were ambiguous on #4 (Select roles)
I created a News node; checked mail; nothing. Ran cron (wasn't sure if required); nothing.
P.S. I have more than 50 moderators. Is there a way around that? If not, is this module not viable?
Thank you.

dougouverson commentedOh, I think I understand: Under #4 (Select roles) this is the role publishing/triggering the email notification.
As it usually happens to me: as soon as I submit a ticket, I figure it out!
