Just noticed the latest release of AddThis provides a twitter - tweet button option as well.

Can this be added in by someone?

Try just typing in twitter to your list under Widget. It works in 5.2 even though it's not listed as supported!

The module will accept any sharing service that addthis.com supports. Latest list of supported services is always available at addthis.com. Twitter is already listed in 6.x version of the module and as Xoso pointed out will also work in 5.x version.
