My status page informed me that there was an update for Activity Stream so I used Drush to update and the site went down with this error:
"Fatal error: Call to undefined function simplepie_require() in ...sites/all/modules/contrib/activitystream/activitystream_feed/activitystream_feed.module on line 13"
I disabled simplepie directly in the database to get the site back on line, but have not been able to get both simplepie and activty stream modules both enabled since.

I believe this has been fixed in Activity Stream 2.x-beta2. See also #498030: Cannot redeclare class SimplePie.
