I have activity log configured to log based on taxonomy terms. This allows users to "subscribe" to types of nodes based on the taxonomy. I have the view configured to accept multiple terms to include the streams in the view.

My issue/questions is whether it's possible to make the message unique when including multiple streams in the view. For instance I create a node with two taxonomy terms, then include both of those streams in the view, the same message will show up twice in the view. Let me know if you can think of a way to filter out the message if it's already included in another stream within that view. I can "hack" it and filter it when printing the view if the message was the same as previous row, but would prefer not to because that will mess up the number of outputted rows in the view.

Thanks for any suggestions and the time you've put into this project. The activity log has been exactly what I need to create these facebook style feeds and activities.

I don't think that is possible without writing code. You might be able to alter the Views query to prevent duplicates though instead of filtering out messages after Views retrieves them.
